Relevance: More than 10 years’ experience working with mental health and psychosocial support through clinical work, training, supervision, and public mental health with a particular focus on refugee settings. He has first hand experience with the importance of long-term programming and system strengthening.
Bio: Dr. Rabih El Chammay is a clinical psychologist more than 10 years’ experience working with mental health and psychosocial support. He has undertaken clinical work, developed training materials and conducted training and supervision of MHPSS activities, with a particular focus on refugee settings and rehabilitation of victims of torture, including as Consultant Psychiatrist Hotel Dieu of France in Lebanon, Consultant for DIGNITY, and Lecturer at Department of Psychiatry at Saint Joseph University, Beirut. Dr. Rabih El Chammay is currently, as Head of the Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of Health, Lebanon, working on mental health system reform and improving mental health and psychosocial support services for refugees as Head of Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of helath in Lebanon.
