DIGNITY: Danish Institute Against Torture works to protect human life and dignity. We have closely monitored the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and the health responses taken by authorities over the last three weeks.<\/p>\n

DIGNITY management will comply with the recommendations of the Danish authorities and ask staff to continue their work from home. Consequently, the Headquarter as well as Country Offices will remain closed from Monday 15 March to Friday 27 March or until further notice. All international travels have been suspended for the same period.<\/p>\n

DIGNITY staff will be available in normal office hours (09:00 to 16:00 depending on time zones) on their company telephones and will also be available for online meetings.<\/p>\n

While these measures are important steps in the prevention of COVID-19 spreading through our societies, we call to the attention of the global community that survivors of torture and mass violence may be adversely affected by the extraordinary measures taken to control COVID-19.<\/p>\n

DIGNITY therefore continues its work of outreach, rehabilitation and accompaniment with these vulnerable groups trough digital services and by phone, and we urge the global community of anti-torture organizations, human rights and mental health organizations to do the same.<\/p>\n
