Jens Modvig appointed to the UN Fund for victims of torture

Jens Modvig from DIGNITY appointed to the United Nations Voluntary Fund on Victims of Torture.

For the next three years, the Danish chief physician, PhD at DIGNITY – Danish Institute Against Torture, Jens Modvig, will be part of the board of the United Nations Voluntary Fund on Victims of Torture. He will be part of the board from October 21, 2023 to October 20, 2026.

The appointment is an international recognition of Modvigs medical expertise and organizational talent, which he has applied in the fight against torture for almost 30 years. He was also chairman of the UN Committee against Torture from 2016 to 2021.

The purpose of the UN Fund for Torture Survivors is to help torture survivors and their families rebuild their lives by supporting civil society organizations. For these purposes, the fund distributes around 7 million dollars every year.
