Join the conference on the investigation and prosecution of torture and international crimes – what Denmark can learn from Norway, Sweden, and Germany

Fængsel og pigtråd med blå himmel bagved

In December 2024, the Danish Parliament adopted a historic law criminalizing torture and war crimes under Chapter 13a of the Danish Penal Code. The next important step is to ensure the effective implementation of this legislation in practice.

We therefore invite you to an insightful conference at Christiansborg, where experts and practitioners from Norway, Sweden, and Germany will share their experiences and best practices for investigating and prosecuting torture and other international crimes.

Date: Thursday, 27 November 2025

Venue: Proviantsalen, the Danish Parliament

Hosts: Member of the Danish Parliament, Karina Lorentzen, DIGNITY – Dansk Institut against Torture and ECCHR – European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights
