DIGNITY is devastated by the killing of human rights defender and lawyer Nour Naser Abu Al-Nour and seven of her family members including her two-year old daughter in Rafah, Southern Gaza.
Nour worked with the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), one of very few human rights organizations still operating in Gaza. According to PCHR she was killed by an Israeli airstrike on her home.
The killing of a colleague touches us closely, and we stand in solidarity with our partner PCHR.
The targeting of human rights defenders working tirelessly to collect vital evidence on the ground is unacceptable, and we demand that Israel abides by the orders of the ICJ, and halt immediately the indiscriminate killing of civilians. The international community must live up to their responsibilitiesand insist on accountability.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Nour’s remaining family and to our colleagues at PCHR.
